Below is a list of the most asked questions that we receive about home cleaning services. Things such as the number of employees who will be cleaning your home, whether you should be at home during the cleaning, payment and invoice information, gift certificates, liability and how we guarantee satisfaction of your home cleaning, along with lots of info about how to book a cleaning online.

How many employees will come to clean my home? A crew of two highly trained, bonded and insured cleaning staff. Those staff will also arrive with all the required cleaning supplies and tools to ensure your home is left sparkling clean.
What time will you be cleaning my home? Cleaning services are provided Monday through Friday, 9:00AM to 8:00PM and you will be scheduled during these times. We also provide cleaning services on the weekends. Contact us to enquire about a cleaning appointment during the weekend.
Do I need to be home? It is not necessary for you to be at property while the cleaning team is cleaning your apartment, house or office space. It is, however, necessary that you or someone on your behalf let’s the cleaning staff in and locks once the cleaning is complete to your satisfaction.
What payment methods do you accept? We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Interac email transfers, personal cheques and PayPal.
Why does the first cleaning take longer? In most cases, the first cleaning takes longer. This is as a result of our high standards, which all of our cleaning staff are expected to follow. Homes that have not been cleaned in a while require a deep cleaning, which adds to the additional time. The deep cleaning, however, is worth it, as your home will be sparkling clean once again. The following cleaning should not take extra time, as long as cleaning of the home has been maintained.
How does payment work? Clients are requested to pay for the cleaning services on the day of the cleaning, steam carpet, steam cleaning and/or interior window cleaning.
What if I refer a friend, will you provide a gift certificate? Yes, if you refer us your friend, family member or a colleague, we will provide you with a $20 gift certificate, which can be applied towards your up coming cleaning services. With Clean and Shiny, your referral will also get a $20 gift certificate, which can be applied towards the first cleaning.
Is HST included in the hourly rate? HST applies to all cleaning jobs in Ontario. The 13% HST will be added to your invoice as it is not included in the hourly rate.
Can I add items to your House Cleaning Checklist?Absolutely. If for some reason we are missing an item in our house cleaning checklist, please advise the cleaning representative when scheduling the cleaning appointment of the missing item, and we will ensure that item is covered. We are here to complete the job to your satisfaction, and therefore, we encourage you to communicate with us.
Do you bring all your own equipment and supplies? Our trained staff will arrive to clean your home with all the required tools and supplies so that you do not need to worry about providing or buying any cleaning supplies. The cleaning staff use HEPA vacuum cleaners when cleaning your home. We also use steam cleaning technology when we preparing your home for sell, once a renovation is completed or during our deep cleaning service.
We pride ourselves with the natural cleaning methods that we use when cleaning, as a result, all of our cleaning supplies are environmentally friendly. You will be surprised how powerful the use of lemons, vinegar, and baking soda as natural cleaning products can sparkle your home.
Will I get an invoice? Yes. We will provide you with an invoice at the time of service. Payment is made upon completion of the cleaning service.
What if the cleaning does not meet my satisfaction? In case you are not 100% satisfied with the cleaning, contact us by 11:00AM the following day, and we will visit your house to re-clean that area of concern at no additional cost. Your satisfaction of our cleaning services is a top property to us, and as a result, we take it seriously.
Are you bonded and insured? Yes, we are. All of our cleaning team members are bonded and insured. Clean and Shiny carries a $2 million general liability insurance. A proof of our insurance can be presented upon request. We take the safety of your home and working environment of our employees seriously.
